Unlocked enterprise work with field access controls

I designed a reusable custom-field access control framework that lets teams protect sensitive information without losing collaboration. It reached 40% adoption among eligible enterprise organizations in one month and 99%+ in six months.

Problem

60% of the enterprise security reviews we examined were blocked by custom-field visibility. Customers needed both privacy and different levels of access.

My contribution

Led customer research, the shared authorization and UI model, field-settings concepts, and alignment with teams across nine product surfaces.

Key decision

Reused familiar field settings and launched Admin, Editor, and User roles rather than adding a fragmented advanced interface or custom roles.

Downstream effect

99%+ adoption in six months, $100M+ ARR impacted by previously blocked deals, and three teams reused the framework.
